2 pimps nabbed, 8 girls rescued in Mandaluyong
MANILA, Philippines - Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested two suspected pimps for allegedly peddling eight girls, four of them minors, who were rescued in Mandaluyong City Thursday night.
Rolly Batilaran, 32, alias Samantha, and Argie Bolagot, 22, were nabbed in an entrapment operation, special investigator Claro Ramos of the NBI Anti-Human Trafficking Division said.
Ramos said the suspects would be charged with child abuse and anti-human trafficking before the Department of Justice.
Prior to their arrest, two NBI agents posed as customers and transacted with the suspects in a restaurant in Mandaluyong, sealing a deal of P1,500 for the sexual services of each girl.
Batilaran and Bolagot were detained at the NBI jail. The minors were turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
