Fake cop caught

MANILA, Philippines - Sporting a short haircut, wearing a police jacket and carrying handcuffs, a security guard posed as a police officer when he was arrested for a traffic violation in Quezon City yesterday.

Rodel Tojoy, 24, introduced himself as a police officer following his arrest for driving a motorcycle without license plates in Barangay Laging Handa at past midnight, said Quezon City Police District director Senior Superintendent Joel Pagdilao.

According to Pagdilao, Tojoy was with Venjamin Ibanez and Kevin Ebasabalm when policemen flagged them down in Barangay Don Manuel. They tried to flee, but police officers caught them.

Police officers confiscated a .38 caliber revolver from Tojoy as well as two fan knives and a ski mask from his companions.
