5 nabbed over fake ID cards

Ed Amoroso - Banat

MANILA, Philippines - Five people involved in forging fake identification cards, including Permit to Carry Firearms Outside Residence (PTCFOR) cards, were arrested during raids in Manila and Pasay City yesterday.

Senior Superintendent Gilbert Cruz, Manila Police District directorial staff chief, said the five suspects, names withheld, were in custody after being arrested at their stalls in Harrison Plaza.

Cruz said his office received information that a syndicate involved in faking documents had shifted their modus operandi to producing fake PTCFOR cards and police and military identification cards.

He told The STAR there were 800 fake identification cards in the seized computers and police officers will hunt down those using the fake cards.
