MANILA, Philippines - Two teenagers allegedly attacked a boy with barbecue sticks as he was scavenging for scraps in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City before dawn yesterday.
Emerson Solis, 12, an out-of-school youth, was stabbed several times.
Quezon City Police District Station 6 commander Superintendent Segundo Lagundi Jr. said two suspects, both under 14, were involved in the attack.
Lagundi said the suspects, who remain at large, had had past disputes with the victim over scraps salvaged from garbage bins in the area.
Lagundi said the victim sought refuge with his brother, who was also scavenging in the area. The brother rescued him and told their grandmother. The victim was brought to East Avenue Medical Center for treatment.
