Reinir Padua - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -  A gasoline attendant and a cashier reported a robbery at a gasoline station in Quezon City they were manning but ended up facing qualified theft charges after their reports on the stolen money did not match.

Xandra Justine Contado, 19, reportedly misdeclared the stolen amount by P1,000, said Superintendent Limuel Obon, commander of the Quezon City Police District Station 10.

Obon said gasoline attendant Benjie Alcazaren is also facing the same complaint even though he even claimed the robbers shot at him when he and some bystanders chased the fleeing robbers.

The two employees said the robbers arrived on a motorcycle at the gasoline station along East Avenue in Barangay Pinyahan at past 8 p.m., grabbed the key to the cashier from Alcazaren at gunpoint and took the station’s earnings for the day, which Alcazaren reported as P15,154.50.

Following the incident, the gasoline station’s owner asked Contado and she declared the money stolen was P14,154.50.
