MANILA, Philippines - Six men were arrested in a drug raid in Valenzuela City Friday night.
City police chief Senior Superintendent Rhoderick Armamento said he and anti-drug operatives raided a house on Abalos Bukid street in Barangay Gen. T. de Leon at around 9 p.m. and caught Randy Ordejon, Elmer Atoli, Joven Marte, Edwin Catuday, Virgilio delos Reyes and John Paul Caro with several sachets of shabu.
“The raid was a product of (a tip) from a source that several persons were openly peddling drugs in the area,” he said, adding that the surveillance took at least a week before they finally nailed the suspects.
Police officers monitored the house as early as 6 p.m. Friday until their informant was able to buy shabu twice from the suspects, Armamento said.
The informant earlier identified the Delos Reyes brothers as being behind the proliferation of drugs along Abalos Bukid street, according to Armamento.
A certain Ondoy and Justine delos Reyes escaped during the raid but the informant said “Ordejon was among the big pushers in the area and his arrest could have broken the back of the syndicate.”
Armamento said they are still checking if the suspects own two motorcycles seized during the raid.
