QCPD closing in on killers of actress’ mother

MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) is closing in on the killers of actress Cherry Pie Picache’s mother, an official said yesterday.

QCPD director Chief Superintendent Richard Albano assured Picache that the murder of Zenaida Sison, 75, will soon be solved.

“We are moving in the right direction,” Albano told reporters.

He said QCPD investigators were pursuing a good lead in the case.

But Albano said he did not impose any deadline on his men so as not to compromise the follow-up operation against the suspects.

Sison’s body was riddled with stab wounds when she was found at her home in Barangay Paligsahan last week.

Police said the incident was a case of robbery with homicide.
