Robber caught hiding under bed

MANILA, Philippines -  Police arrested a robber who hid under a  bed after taking the cell phones of his two 12-year-old victims in Marikina City over the weekend.

Jayrald Mago, 31, was caught by responding policemen in the victims’ room.

Mago is facing charges of robbery with intimidation with the Marikina City prosecutor’s office.

Armed with a screwdriver, police said the suspect broke into the victims’ house in Barangay Concepcion at around 9:30 p.m. last Saturday.

Mago took the victims’ iPhone 5 and Samsung cell phone.

In Malabon City, an alleged burglar died after he was pierced by an iron grill while trying to escape last Sunday.

Bienvenido Marcelo, 46, allegedly stole cables from a farm in Barangay Maysilo.
