MANILA, Philippines - A group of teenagers robbed and stabbed a Philippine News Agency reporter in his home in Pasay City shortly before noon yesterday.
Ferdinand Patinio, 43, was talking on his iPhone 5 at around 11 a.m. when the teenagers walked into the compound, located at the corner of EDSA and Cabrera street, and proceeded to Patinio’s house, Police Officer 3 Melvin Garcia said.
One of the teenagers pulled out a knife and told Patinio to hand over his smartphone. Patinio tried to close the door but the teenagers pushed the door open as one of them stabbed him in the left thigh.
When Patinio fell to the floor, the teenagers took the smartphone, Garcia said. The reporter was taken to the San Juan de Dios Hospital for treatment.
Police officers are tracking down the assailants, believed to be minors, Garcia said.
