Manhunt on for cop who killed partner

MANILA, Philippines - The Las Piñas police has launched a manhunt for a policeman who reportedly shot dead his partner after a heated argument in their house in Barangay CAA Thursday night, an official said yesterday.

Police Officer 2 Volter “Bong” Guerrero fled after killing Ana Nerrisa Lee, 28, in their rented home, according to city police chief Senior Superintendent Adolfo Samala Jr.

Guerrero, detailed at the National Capital Region Police Office’s holding center in Camp Bagong Diwa, has gone absent without official leave after the shooting, Samala said.

A witness told investigators that the couple were arguing when Lee threw an empty bottle at Guerrero, who shot her in the head and chest.

Samala said homicide charges will be filed against Guerrero.
