MANILA, Philippines - Police investigators have identified the owner of a Toyota Camry, whose driver reportedly kidnapped a 17-year-old girl later seen jumping – totally naked – out of the car in Mandaluyong City last Saturday, an official said yesterday.
The Camry’s license plate number was seen on closed-circuit television footage that showed the girl jumping from the car at the corner of Maria Clara and Bumatay streets in Barangay Plainview at around 6:47 a.m., said Mandaluyong deputy police chief Superintendent Chris Landicho.
He said they are inviting the car owner for questioning to determine who was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident. He refused to name names.
The girl told police she was waiting for a ride in Barangay Addition Hills when the Camry stopped in front of her at around 6 a.m.
She said the driver, who appeared to be a foreigner, asked for directions. When she drew near, the driver dragged her into the vehicle.
Landicho said they are in the process of determining whether the girl was raped by the car’s occupant.
