1 dead, 1 hurt in Navotas shooting

MANILA, Philippines -  A 22-year-old man died and a teenager was wounded when several unidentified men gunned them down while they were talking in front of a store in Navotas City at past midnight yesterday. 

Jayvie Cruz was pronounced dead on arrival at the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center from several gunshot wounds in his chest while Jessie Jimenez, 18, is recuperating at an undisclosed hospital after he was hit in the legs.

Investigators said the victims were passing time in front of the store on Nadela street in Barangay Tangos when they were attacked at around 1 a.m.

Police have yet to determine the motive for the shooting.
