MANILA, Philippines - Four alleged carjackers were arrested after a car chase from EDSA in Makati to Pasay City Tuesday night.
Makati police chief Senior Superintendent Manuel Lukban said they received a report about armed men who stole a Suzuki Raider motorcycle on Vito Cruz street.
Reports said the stolen motorcycle was spotted on Evangelista street near the boundary of Pasay.
Policemen chanced upon four other suspects in a Mitsubishi Lancer with license plate TYL-413, also believed stolen, prompting them to chase the suspects.
Lukban said he contacted the Pasay police for assistance in intercepting the suspects.
Police caught up with the suspects when they ran into traffic at the intersection of Macapagal Boulevard and Gil Puyat extension.
Policemen recovered two .45 caliber pistols, a 9mm pistol and two bladed weapons from Nelson Castillo, Brian Legitimas, Victorio Nuas and Roberto Gozon.
The fifth suspect, who was on the motorcycle, managed to escape.
The stolen motorcycle was abandoned by the suspect.
Lukban said the suspects were responsible for a series of carjacking and robbery incidents in Makati using the red Mitsubishi Lancer as their get away vehicle.
