MANILA, Philippines - A businessman jilted by his partner of six years allegedly went on a shooting spree in Manila Friday night, killing her parents and hitting her in the leg before shooting himself in the head.

Police officers found Arvi Villa, 33, playing with the blood oozing from his head as he lay on the floor of Unit 104 Tenement Housing in Punta, Sta. Ana at around 10 p.m. Friday.

He was rushed to Sta. Ana Hospital, where he is currently under observation.

His girlfriend, Maridref Tolentino, 26, was taken to the Philippine General Hospital. Her stepfather Sergio Aguilar, 47, died on the scene while her mother Ma. Lourdes, 46, died at Sta. Ana Hospital at around 2 a.m. yesterday.

Homicide investigator Senior Police Officer 2 Angelito Lopez said Tolentino left their house in Quezon City a week ago and she went to her parents house Friday night to reportedly “force her to reconcile with him. In front of her mother and stepfather, she refused him.”

Tolentino told police officers she and her parents thought Villa would not push the issue. She said that as she walked him to his car, Villa suddenly asked her if he could use the bathroom.

Tolentino said yes and brought Villa to her parents’ apartment. When he got out of the bathroom, she said she saw Villa aiming a gun at her.

Tolentino said her stepfather immediately told her to escape. She told police she ran but Villa shot her, then her mother and stepfather before shooting himself.
