Man cutting branch falls to death

MANILA, Philippines - A 58-year-old man died after falling 20 feet from the roof of a building in Manila on Friday morning as he was cutting down a tree mangled by Typhoon Glenda earlier this week.

Ruben Beraquit and two other laborers were cutting a branch that landed on the roof of the United Methodist Mission House in Malate when he lost his balance and fell headfirst at about 9:30 a.m. Friday, Police Officer 3 Marlon San Pedro said.

He died while being treated at the Ospital ng Maynila at around 5 p.m.
