MANILA, Philippines - Three robbery suspects were killed in two separate shootouts with policemen in Quezon City Tuesday night.
Superintendent Pedro Sanchez, commander of the QCPD-Station 2, said the first shootout occurred when patrolling policemen noticed the commotion, when one of the slain suspects, who remain unidentified, declared the heist along Quezon Avenue in Barangay Sta. Cruz at around 9 p.m.
Another suspect identified as Angela Dagdagan, 27, suffered serious injuries and remains confined at the Capitol Medical Center after she jumped from the jeepney during the robbery.
The second robbery occurred at around 10 p.m. along Quirino Highway in Novaliches, said Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Superintendent Richard Albano.
QCPD-Station 4 commander Superintendent Norberto Babagay said the suspects fired at policemen when they ran after them after they also noticed the commotion in the jeepney.
He said one of the suspects died on the spot while the other died while being treated at the Novaliches General Hospital.
