Robbers hit store, take chickens

Reinir Padua - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Two robbers ended up taking dressed chickens instead of cash when they held up a rotisserie store as it opened for business Sunday, police said yesterday.

A branch of Mang Bok’s Manok in Barangay Talipapa lost 29 chickens worth P6,351, said Superintendent Ariel Capocao, commander of the Quezon City Police District Station 3.

Capocao believes the robbers waited for the store along Quirino Avenue to open at around 9 a.m. on Sunday. The two men hogtied and gagged the store’s employee then took the chickens, two shirts and a cell phone before running off.
