Rainier Allan Ronda - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A World War 2-era 105-millimeter artillery round was found at the construction site of a condominium along Taft Avenue in Manila at past midnight yesterday.

The round was still intact and could explode if not handled properly, according to the Manila Police District’s Explosives and Ordnance Disposal (MPD-EOD) unit.

The MPD-EOD said it received a report from the developer regarding the discovery of the artillery round at the construction site at past 1 a.m. Backhoe operator Reynaldo Amoro reportedly unearthed the ordnance while moving earth at the construction site.

A team led by Police Officer 3 Ernesto Rivera Jr. removed the round and disposed of it at around 7 a.m.
