MANILA, Philippines - Police on Tuesday arrested two most wanted criminals in separate operations in Marikina and Pasig City.
Michael Bautista, 33, alias Baltik, a member of the Trifon Robenta robbery gang, was nabbed along Sudsud street in Barangay Sto. Niño, Marikina at 9:45 p.m., said city police chief Senior Superintendent Vincent Calanoga.
Police said Bautista’s group was allegedly responsible for the spate of robberies in the city.
“He is the leader of Trifon Robenta group, which targets motorcycles left unattended along streets or in front of establishments,” Calanoga said.
He said the stolen motorcycles are being used by the group in their robbery and drug pushing activities.
The group operates in Marikina, Quezon City, Antipolo City and Rizal.
Bautista was apprehended by a police team headed by Marikina police intelligence chief Senior Inspector Glenn Aculana.
The suspect has 11 warrants of arrest for robbery-holdup and car theft, police said.
He was detained at the Marikina City police jail while awaiting commitment order from the court.
