Corpse found in QC river

MANILA, Philippines - A man’s decaying body was found floating along a river in Quezon City Wednesday afternoon .

Inspector Elmer Monsalve, head of the homicide investigation section of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), said the man bore gunshot and stab wounds in different parts of the body.

Monsalve said the man, who has yet to be identified, was clad in a black shirt and a pair of shorts.

A security guard of a nearby subdivision found the body along a portion of San Juan River at around 2:15 p.m., Monsalve said. The guard reported the incident to the QCPD, which immediately sent investigators to the crime scene.

Police found the body had been fished out of the river and placed on the riverbank by residents.
