MANILA, Philippines - A security guard was shot dead by his fellow guard as they were about to change shifts in Makati City yesterday morning.
Security guards Dante Bacalan and Allan Quides, both employed by the Solaiman Security Agency, were about to change shifts guarding a bank at the corner of Durban street and Makati Avenue when they got into an argument just before 7 a.m., Makati police chief Senior Superintendent Manuel Lukban said.
During the argument, Bacalan reportedly drew his .38 caliber service revolver and shot Quides in the chest. Quides died on the scene.
Police officers arrested Bacalan and confiscated his service firearm. He has been detained at the Makati police headquarters as charges are being readied against him, Lukban said.
