Doctor loses P.1 M to ATM hackers

MANILA, Philippines - A doctor lost P150,000 to hackers of automated teller machines (ATMs), the Manila Police District said yesterday.
Rafael Chan, 41, told investigators the money was withdrawn on June 3, 4, and 5 from ATMs near a mall in Manila. He discovered that his account had been hacked on June 18.
Police Officer 2 Jay Jacob said that before the withdrawals, Chan last withdrew money from an ATM at a mall in Pasay City.
