Singer wanted for stabbing friend

MANILA, Philippines - The Makati City police has launched a manhunt for the arrest of a singer-composer for allegedly stabbing a friend in Barangay Guadalupe Nuevo Thursday night.

Sherwin Andrada, 19, a recording artist of ABS-CBN’s Star Records, reportedly called John Tamonte, 17, and asked him to go to his house on Felipe street, according to the Southern Police District.

Andrada, without warning, reportedly stabbed Tamonte twice with a knife as they were talking at around 10:50 p.m., police said.

Andrada’s father tried to wrest the knife away from his son, but Andrada broke loose and attacked Tamonte again. Andrada stabbed Tamonte three more times in the back, police said.

Andrada fled as Tamonte was rushed to the Ospital ng Makati, where he was declared in critical condition by Dr. Girly Saldivar.
