Man shoots estranged lover in QC

MANILA, Philippines - A man shot his estranged lover in front of the latter’s new boyfriend in Quezon City Tuesday afternoon. 

Emily Cruz survived the attempt on her life.

Her attacker, Surab Nebres, remains at-large, said Superintendent Norberto Babagay, commander of the Quezon City Police District Station 4.

Babagay said Nebres, 52, fled the scene following the attack in Barangay Bagbag, Novaliches at past 1 p.m.

Cruz, 46, was watching television with her new lover inside her house when the suspect barged in.

Without any warning, Nebres shot the victim twice. He spared Cruz’s partner, Babagay said.

The victim was rushed to the Novaliches District Hospital for treatment.

Babagay said Nebres and Cruz broke up two months ago after living together.
