MANILA, Philippines - An official of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) was killed in an ambush yesterday afternoon.
Inspector Rodelio Diongco, head of the QCPD Station 12’s intelligence unit, tried to shoot back at his assailants, who sped away on a motorcycle.
Diongco, a former precinct commander, was reportedly on the way to his farm when he was attacked along IBP Road in front of the Civil Service Commission in Barangay Batasan Hills at past 2 p.m.
Police Officer 2 Allan Quisumbing of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) has been tasked to handle the case.
Investigators have yet to establish a motive for the ambush but are not discounting the possibility of the attack being work-related.
