Malabon to honor outstanding citizens

MANILA, Philippines - The Malabon City government will honor its outstanding citizens today in the annual Gintong Parangal Awards of the Kalipunan ng mga Samahan sa Malabon (KASAMA) at the San Bartolome parish center.

2013 Ramon Magsaysay awardee and Malabon resident Dr. Ernesto Domingo will be this year’s guest of honor and speaker.

KASAMA’s officials are president Ma. Corazon Lazaro, vice president Malabon Vice Mayor Jeannie Sandoval and Meynard Espiritu, chairman emeritus. Established in 1981, the group is considered the umbrella organization of all civil society groups in the city.

The awards are meant to recognize the achievements of residents of Malabon in various fields of endeavor.
