Another barangay councilman shot in Caloocan

MANILA, Philippines - Another barangay councilman was shot and seriously wounded in Caloocan City early yesterday morning.

Dan Wilson Chua remains under observation at the Manila Central University Hospital after two men on a motorcycle shot him at around 6:30 a.m. along Evangelista street in Bagong Barrio.

Reports said Chua had just alighted from his vehicle and was about to distribute several bags of goods when the attack happened.

Police have yet to establish the motive for the shooting.

At least two barangay chairmen, five barangay councilman and the deputy chief of the city government’s department of public safety and traffic management were gunned down in Caloocan this year.
