MANILA, Philippines - A top official of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) has resigned from his post.
Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) director Alejandro Estomo handed over his resignation on Monday, BOC spokesperson Charo Logarta-Lagamon confirmed yesterday.
“It seems that he needed to go abroad, and with his work at the CIIS it would be impossible for him to travel. His children are based abroad,†said Lagamon.
Estomo, who served the Armed Forces for 37 years, joined the BOC in November last year.
Logarta dismissed speculations that Estomo resigned because he had a falling out with BOC-Intelligence Service Deputy Commissioner Jesse Dellosa.
