Korean, partner nabbed for murder
MANILA, Philippines - A Korean online casino operator and his Filipina partner were arrested in Parañaque City Tuesday for allegedly killing one employee and trying to kill another in Cavite.
Shin Beom Sik, 40, and Ma. Theresa Salvador were arrested at their house in BF Homes and charged with murder and attempted murder before the Imus, Cavite prosecutor’s office yesterday, according to Chief Inspector Gil Torralba, police chief of Silang, Cavite.
They were charged for the killing of Yang Kwang Sung, 31, and wounding Inseong Jeong, 30, both Korean nationals and employees of the online casino owned by Shin.
Torralba said Shin and Salvador confessed and said the victims took almost P1 million from the online casino.
Inseong told police he and Yang were kidnapped in Parañaque at around 1 a.m. Monday by five men, led by Shin, and a woman.
Yang was later found dead but Inseong, who pretended to be dead, was rushed to the hospital by bystanders who found them in Silang, Torralba said.
