Worker hurt as floodwall collapses

Aie Balagtas See - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A construction worker was injured when a floodwall along Casilik Creek in Tondo, Manila collapsed on Sunday.

Randy Paz was rushed to Diosdado Macapagal Hospital in Caloocan, where he was treated for minor injuries.

Paz was among those repairing the floodwall near Juan Luna Bridge when it collapsed at around 8 a.m., according to foreman Jimboy Fuentes.

Fuentes suspects that the floodwall collapsed because the cement used to repair it had not yet hardened.
