Man loses leg, dies in train accident

MANILA, Philippines - A 43-year-old man died after being hit by a Philippine National Railways (PNR) train in Sta. Cruz, Manila yesterday morning.

Max Padon, a construction worker, was rushed to the Ospital ng Tondo where one of his legs was amputated.

Padon died later due to loss of blood, the Manila Police District Station 7 said.

He also sustained injuries to his head and other leg.

Police said the victim was walking on the PNR tracks along Jose Abad Santos Avenue at around 7 a.m. on his way to Tutuban when he was hit by the train.
