MANILA, Philippines - Two men were arrested yesterday in connection with the grenade explosion that rocked Manila Police District’s Station 1 last Thursday.
Alfredo Roy Elgrico, 21, and Jay-R Castolome, 31, were nabbed on Malaya street in Balut, Tondo in a follow-up operation hours after the explosion.
The suspects were reportedly seen riding a pink motorcycle when they lobbed the grenade just before 4 p.m. Thursday, Senior Police Officer 2 Arnel Tobias said.
The explosion destroyed two motorcycles, a van, and station commander Superintendent Julius Anonuevo’s Toyota Vios.
The two suspects are alleged associates of “Bricks,†a convicted drug pusher now detained at the New Bilibid Prison, investigators said.
