Burglars steal P.5 M from 2 QC houses

MANILA, Philippines - Burglars broke into two Quezon City residences during the Holy Week and made off with close to P.5 million in valuables.

The suspects broke into the apartment of graphic artist Rohvel Yumul, 39, at Forest Hill Subdivision in Barangay Gulod, Novaliches while the victim was away.

Yumul reported losing a total of P185,000 in gadgets, collectible toys, assorted dresses and shoes.

The burglary was believed to have happened between Wednesday and Maundy Thursday, said Police Officer 3 Fernando Tanghay.

A day later, another burglary was reported at Road 20 in Barangay Bahay Toro, said PO3 Arielito Canlas.

Fortunato Lamoglia, 24, lost P300,000 in assorted watches, pieces of jewelry and a Blackberry cell phone. The burglary was believed to have happened between 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Good Friday while he was out of the house.
