DPWH identifies EDSA segments due for repair

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) released yesterday afternoon a list of the specific sections of EDSA that would be repaired during the Holy Week.

The repairs on EDSA’s southbound lanes will start at 2 p.m. today while the northbound lanes will be repaired starting at noon tomorrow, according to DPWH National Capital Region director Reynaldo Tagudando.

The repairs are expected to be completed by 5 a.m. on April 21, he added.

The DPWH said EDSA’s southbound lanes from Zamora street to Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City will be partially closed, as are both southbound and northbound lanes of EDSA from Evangelista to Guadalupe Bridge.

A maximum of three out of five northbound lanes of EDSA from Guadalupe Bridge to SM Megamall will also be under repair. There will also be repairs along the J. Vargas-Temple Drive segment of EDSA’s northbound lanes.

Repairs will also be undertaken along EDSA’s southbound lanes from Guadalupe Bridge to Libertad street and near Annapolis street.

In Quezon City, parts of EDSA’s northbound lanes from Roosevelt to Quezon Avenues will also be reblocked as well as EDSA’s southbound lanes from Roosevelt to West Avenues, Roosevelt to Quezon Avenues, New York street to the Cubao underpass and Gate 1 to Annapolis.

Other roads in Quezon City will also be reblocked: Main Avenue, from 10th to 15th Ave­nues; Kamuning Road, from Scout Ybardolaza to Tomas Morato streets; Balete Drive, from Campanilla street to Aurora Boulevard; and Bayani street, from Unang Hakbang to Cordillera streets.
