Burglar breaks into HLURB compound
MANILA, Philippines - A burglar broke into the House and Land Use Regulatory Board compound in Barangay Central, Quezon City over the weekend and took employees’ valuables.
The break-in was discovered at past noon on Sunday by a roving security guard at the HLURB’s adjudication building. He saw the door half-open and saw desks in disarray upon entering.
Superintendent Richard Fiesta said an arbiter, lawyer Lorina Rigor, lost a P100,000 laptop computer while three other employees also lost valuables.
He noted that the agency’s compound is highly guarded and surveillance cameras have been installed at various points.
Fiesta added that a review of the surveillance camera footage showed that at around 1:33 a.m. Sunday, a man was seen scaling the perimeter wall of the compound. The burlar slipped past the security guards, he said.
