Estafa, car theft suspect nabbed

Reinir Padua - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A woman wanted by the police for estafa and car theft was arrested in Novaliches, Quezon City Tuesday night.

Lolita Santos, 47, a broker, was apprehended in Natividad Subdivision at past 7 p.m. based on the warrants issued by two Quezon City courts.

Chief Inspector Rodel Marcelo, head of the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, said they are currently verifying if Santos is the subject of other arrest warrants.

Two of Santos’ alleged victims went to Camp Karingal to file a complaint against her.

One of the complainants claimed that in 2011, Santos bought two vehicles from her – a Nissan Patrol and an Isuzu Sportivo – by issuing post-dated checks that bounced.
