Commonwealth Avenue closed for INC event

Janvic Mateo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City government has announced the closure of portions of Commonwealth Avenue tomorrow to give way for the evangelical mission of Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC).

Citing instructions from Mayor Herbert Bautista, public affairs and information services chief Gregorio Banacia said vehicular traffic will not be allowed on the thoroughfare’s northbound lane from Sandiganbayan to Litex Road starting at 12:01 a.m. tomorrow until the end of the event.

Elmo San Diego, head of the city’s department of public order and safety, said a counterflow scheme will be implemented on the southbound lane of Commonwealth Avenue.

He said motorists coming from Philcoa going to Fairview may also use Batasan Road as an alternative route.
