Biker slain in QC shootout

Reinir Padua - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A motorcycle rider, who ignored policemen conducting an anti-crime operation, was slain after he traded shots with the lawmen in Quezon City on Sunday afternoon.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Superintendent Richard Albano said the unidentified man was armed with a .45 caliber pistol.

He was with a female back rider, who ran away, when they were flagged down in Barangay San Isidro at around 5 p.m.

QCPD Station 11 commander Superintendent Victor Pagulayan said the two were flagged down after they were spotted riding a motorcycle – which had no license plates – without wearing helmets.

The suspect died on the scene following the gun battle.
