MANILA, Philippines - Classes at the Makati National High School in Barangay Poblacion were disrupted yesterday morning due to a bomb scare.
Police said the bomb threat turned out to be a hoax.
One of the school’s security guards received a telephone call at 7:25 a.m. from an unidentified caller, saying a bomb was set to explode, according to Makati police chief Senior Superintendent Manuel Lukban.
Lukban said the caller told the guard that the bomb would blow up inside the campus.
He said the security guard immediately informed authorities of the incident, prompting the local police to deploy its bomb squad in the area.
After almost an hour of searching, policemen found no explosive in the school.
