MANILA, Philippines - A 37-year-old househelp was killed when she stepped into the path of an oncoming train in Sta. Mesa, Manila yesterday.
Doneza de Guzman, who stays with her employer on Aurelio street, was dismembered when an Alabang-bound train hit her as she was crossing the Philippine National Railway tracks at around 9:30 a.m., according to Senior Police Officer 3 Rey Fernandez.
Her employer had told her to go to the market to buy rice, Fernandez said.
A witness said De Guzman seemed to be distracted as she crossed the tracks.
