Woman shot in Manila

MANILA, Philippines - A 45-year-old woman was shot while she was riding a passenger jeepney in Tondo, Manila Thursday night.

Margarita Talauan died while being treated for gunshot wounds in the back at the Mary Johnston Hospital.

Talauan and her boyfriend, Apolonio Padrigo, had just come from a shopping mall and were in a passenger jeep when an unidentified man shot her just before 8 p.m., Senior Police Officer 1 Jonathan Moreno said.

“We are looking at a possible love triangle because (one of the parties involved) is married but had a lover,” said Inspector Steve Casimiro of the Manila Police District’s homicide division.
