MANILA, Philippines - The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) advised motorists yesterday to expect heavy traffic along EDSA over the weekend as some parts of the highway in Quezon City, Caloocan and Pasay will be reblocked by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
In an advisory, the MMDA said the reblocking started at 10 p.m. yesterday and will end at 5 a.m. on Monday.
Affected by the reblocking are portions of EDSA between Loring street and Park Avenue (southbound) in Pasay City; between Main Avenue and P. Tuazon (second lane, northbound) in Quezon City; between the Caloocan-Quezon City boundary and F. Aguilar street (lane six), Malvar and Arellano streets (lane six), and Concepcion and Gen. Tinio streets (lane six) in Caloocan City.
Also affected by the reblocking are Kamuning Road between Sct. Turillo and Sct. Ybardoloza streets (second lane, eastbound) in Quezon City.
The MMDA asked motorists to avoid the areas being reblocked and take alternative routes.
According to the MMDA, all the reblocked areas will be passable to traffic by Monday morning.
