2 nabbed for maid’s murder

MANILA, Philippines - A man and a woman were arrested in a hospital in San Juan City Saturday in connection with the murder of a domestic helper in 2012.

Perfecto Lotino Verdadero and Myra Labas, both of Kennedy street in Greenhills, San Juan City, did not resist arrest when they were cornered at the hospital, said city police chief Senior Superintendent Joselito Daniel.

Verdadero and Labas were the subjects of arrest warrants for murder, issued by Judge Leoncio Janolo Jr. of the San Juan Regional Trial Court Branch 264; and obstruction of apprehension and prosecution of a criminal, issued by Judge Marianito Santos of the San Juan Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 57.

Police officers filed the murder case on Jan. 6 while the obstruction case was filed on Dec. 27, 2013.
