Suspects in beauty queen robbery identified

MANILA, Philippines - Investigators have identified the men who robbed two beauty queens and their male companions outside a restaurant in San Juan City on Feb. 15, an official said yesterday.

The suspects, whom he refused to name until they are arrested, were traced with the help of informants, city police chief Senior Superintendent Joselito Daniel said. 

The San Juan police chief said they are also checking on past derogatory records of the suspects – one is a resident of the city while his companion is from a neighboring city.

The informants identified the two men who robbed Miss Philippines-Earth Angelee Claudett de los Reyes and Miss Philippines-Fire Alma Casabal through closed-circuit television footage, Daniel said.
