2 dead, 3 hurt in QC road mishap

MANILA, Philippines - Two persons were killed while three others were injured when a sport utility vehicle rammed three passenger jeepneys in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.

Jamel Palasum of Cainta, Rizal and Ren Joseph Garcia died on the scene while those hurt were identified as Jonathan Reyes, driver of the Ford Escape (XNE-898); Leonardo Miguel and Carlos Salazar.

The accident happened along E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue at around 3 a.m., according to the Quezon City Police District’s traffic operations center.

Police aide Emer Patulot said Reyes was reported to be in critical condition at the Medical City hospital as of yesterday afternoon.

Traffic investigators have yet to determine what caused the accident.
