MANILA, Philippines - A 24-year-old waitress from Quezon City claimed yesterday her share of the P8.9-million jackpot for the 6/42 Lotto’s Feb. 8 draw, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced yesterday.

The waitress and a player from Bukidnon guessed the six-digit winning combination, 06-09-11-16-19-22, said PCSO general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II.

He said the waitress, who is still single, works at a restaurant in Quezon City during the day and goes to school at night.

“I really want to finish my studies so I can help my family,” she told Rojas in Filipino.

Rojas said the winner, who was on the verge of tears when she received a check for P4.4 million, plans to finish her studies, invest in a restaurant and save the rest of the money.
