CBCP hits Disney over lesbian couple in show

Evelyn Macairan - The Philippine Star

CEBU, Philippines - An official of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) criticized Disney’s cable channel yesterday for featuring a lesbian couple in one of its shows, “Good Luck Charlie.”

Fr. Conegundo Garganta said that with this development, it is time for the church to come out with its own channel to teach children good values.

“I was not able to watch it but if that was aired it is sad. Values are compromised,” he said and asked parents to monitor their children’s choice of shows.

Garganta compared the change in Disney with singer Katy Perry. “She used to sing ministry songs and lo and behold, in one awards show, she was dressed in a devil-like costume,” he said.
