Stolen SUV recovered in QC

Reinir Padua - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Police have recovered a stolen sport utility vehicle after its owner spotted the SUV for sale in Quezon City.

The SUV owned by Dr. Felipe Francisco, 50, of Malolos, Bulacan, was recovered from the suspect identified as Alexander Serdinoza, 52, said Quezon City Police District director Chief Superintendent Richard Albano.

Albano said Francisco found his red Nissan Frontier with license plate XMB-938 for sale while parked in front of Serdinoza’s house at North Olympus Subdivision in Barangay Kaligayahan.

The victim had reported to police that his SUV was stolen in Pulilan, Bulacan in August last year.

Last Thursday, Francisco passed by North Olympus Subdivision and spotted his vehicle.

He quickly sought the assistance of the QCPD-Station 5.

Policemen swooped down on Serdinoza’s house and arrested him.

The suspect told investigators that he bought the vehicle online.

Albano said a case for violation of the anti-fencing law would be filed against Serdinoza before the Quezon City prosecutor’s office. A separate car theft case will be filed against him in Bulacan, police said.
