MANILA, Philippines - A 42-year-old balut vendor was seriously wounded after being shot in Navotas City Thursday night.
Orlando Amianit, a resident of Daang Hari, was shot by one of three men with a caliber .22 handgun, said case investigator SPO2 Noli Dait.
Amianit was rushed by responding village watchmen to the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
Prior to the killing, a resident in the area told The STAR they overheard the suspects asking the victim if he had penoy.
“If you are also selling penoy, then why are you only shouting balut,†the resident quoted the suspect as saying in Filipino.
