Quake jolts MM, Cavite
MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude-3.6 earthquake rattled parts of Metro Manila and Cavite yesterday but authorities reported no damage or injuries.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the tremor happened at 5:37 a.m. with its epicenter traced at 31 kilometers (kms) southwest of Nasugbu, Batangas.
It was felt at Intensity 2 in Tagaytay City and Indang, in Cavite and Malabon City, while Intensity 1 was reportedly felt in Quezon City.
Phivolcs said it was not expecting damage or aftershocks from the tremor.
The quake, which had a depth of 101 kms, was tectonic origin. Tectonic pertains to the movement of the Earth’s crust.
